PETscrap Market Update

PETscrap Market Update
For the last few days, there has been a discussion in the market that Pet Bottle will be turned away from October 2. We spoke to several experts and came up with some facts.

1) Economically the cost of a pet bottle is very low for packaging pure water. Consumers cannot pay the cost of glass and metal bottle. Therefore, it is difficult to completely ban the pet bottles.

2) The government can ban the use of small bottles below 500 ml. 1 liter and upper bottle will be operational.

3) By banning the 200ml bottle, the pet liqueur bottle can move into the glass bottle. There is a difference of Rs 7 per bottle in the cost of both. The consumer has the ability to pay this cost.

4) If the bottle of 200 ml is banned, the availability of pet bottle scrap can be reduced by up to 25%.

The market is now awaiting the final decision of the government till October 2.

No Legal Ban On PET Bottle
03.10.2019 The News that the government has no plans to ban single-use plastic items. This has brought great relief to the bottling industries and there is no legal ban on it. However, the government plans to implement stricter rules to ensure that manufacturers and brands responsibly dispose of and recycle plastic waste.
But the manufacturer is feared that the demand for the bottle has been severely affected due to the proposed BAN for the last two months. And in the long term, its effect can be seen increasing.
For the past few weeks, there has been an announcement to discontinue the use of small plastic bottles by government places, airports, some hotels and restaurants. Water will now be given in a glass bottle. Recycling vending machines will be installed at railway and airport sites.
Pet Recycling Industries will now see a slight reduction in the availability of domestic goods. But there is no significant impact on the production capacity as there is no restriction on the import of pet flakes.

At this time, all levels of business and government will get benefit from the economic and strategic point of view. Otherwise it is difficult to emerge from this serious situation.
